PCVD

We just got back from an amazing vacation in the mountains. My parents have a cabin in beautiful Western North Carolina. Ever since I was a little girl at camp in the mountains, I have felt that my heart belongs there. Every time I go back, from the moment I smell the mountain air, I feel at home.

Views from the cabin porch
There is more peace, more silence, more gratitude.

My kids seemed to change a bit too while we were there. They played in the woods all day long, hardly ever complaining, hardly ever fighting. Simple pleasures take over when we take away screentime (TV, computer games, phones)

Cutie Petutie

Xavie grabbed Xan's hand on our hikes around the cabin. Melts my heart.
Little pleasures like flipping upside down on the gate created lots of laughs.

Running down the hill...

Playing ball on the deck.

Falling in the leaves.

Showing me his X.

We hiked around the cabin a bunch. Xavier is quite the hiker. Every day, he would say, "Mommy, let's go on a hike!" We also hiked to a couple amazing waterfalls.

The whole family at Dry Falls.

 Our little hiker.

On one of our trips into town, we ran into these cuties. Llamas are pretty cool!!!

Always chasing after this little man. This is a beautiful lake down the road from my parents' place.

Nani (my mom) chasing after the boys. We just played and played outside.

 Brothers in the woods.

 My lovebug.

Just a stop off the highway. Sigh...

My most favorite day was when we went to a nearby farm for a hay ride. There was an awesome corn maize and the hay ride took us all around the farm. The tractor driver told us not to "fall out the holes. This is not the normal hay ride trailor." Well, wouldn't you know that Xander tried his best to fall out of those holes. ;)

This is my FAVORITE picture ever!

This pic just sums up the joy in all of us. Love this boy!

They both were drooling over this tractor. So so cool!

Even when we were just hanging at the cabin, we had a blast. Lots of reading, late night trivial pursuit (Trav and I versus my parents - 3 wins to 1 loss. Woohoo!)

 Papi and X reading

Nani and Xman reading his favorite book.

Xavie and Nani had so much fun with this bubble rap. X was obsessed with popping! ;)

Xavie and I spent hours looking for Daddy Long Legs. They are everywhere. ;)

These little guys were everywhere too. My little Florida babies were so mesmerized by the leaves and the moss and the creatures.

 Super cute Xanman

"Happy Fall!!"

AWESOME. FAMILY. VACATION.
I have major PCVD (Post Cabin Vacation Depression).

We saw this every night. Sigh...

Can't wait til next time.
